The Summary of the Breakfast Shared by ITS POLAND Members
Honorary Guest: Piotr Pryciński, National Research and Development Centre (NCBR)
20 September 2016, Warsaw

ITS POLAND thanks for the participation in the breakfast attended by Mr Piotr Pryciński, Deputy Director of the Programme Management Department at the National Research and Development Centre (NCBR). The meeting was scheduled for 20 September 2016 at 10-12 AM at the Concept 13 Restaurant (ul. Bracka 9) in Warsaw.

The meeting was opened and chaired by Tomasz Kamiński, PhD, Eng, of the Institute of Car Transport. The discussion concerned the change of the form of project funding, in which the beneficiary is a company, while a scientific organization (school or research institute) is a subcontractor who may carry out tasks commissioned by the beneficiary of funds. The participants mentioned the need to provide own contribution to a project's budget. The amount of such contribution depends on the type of the contest, size of the company and nature of the research (basic or industrial research) and usually amounts up to 40%.

Due to the lack of a dedicated source of financing for the implementation of ITS projects (action 8.3 in the previous budget perspective), the goal of the meeting was to find out more about the NCBR's offer in the area of project funding and to indicate funding options for various types of undertakings. For this purpose, out of 50 types of contests managed currently by the National Research and Development Centre, several types were selected which would meet the needs of ITS companies. Our guest, Mr Piotr Pryciński, described each of the project contests, presenting their goals, requirements for beneficiaries, possible amounts of funding (according to research type) and deadlines for applications. The participants discussed the ongoing programme named The Development of Road Innovations, conducted jointly by the NCBR and the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways.
